Characters
Paulina
The main character of the series, Paulina, is an 11-year-old girl who loves exploring the world, her mind filled with boundless curiosity and an open, golden heart. Her passion for learning about different cultures and traditions can help her thrive in new environments and make friends very easily. With an open mind, Paulina approaches each new journey eager to connect and inspire others to join in discovering the beauty and wonder the world has to offer.
Xochitl
Quetzaxochitl (Xochitl) is a lively and energetic girl with an audacious spirit. She loves exploring her birthplace, Oaxaca, and the hidden gems it offers, whether it be cafes, shops, historical sites, or her favorite spot, the Benito Juárez Market. She has a great love for all types of flavors, from the sweetness of a delicious strawberry horchata to the spiciness of chiles and mole, seeking beyond the culinary horizons. Although she is very confident, her self-assuredness can sometimes tip her into being bumptious, leading her to overlook important details and underestimate the risks that follow. Despite this tendency, Xochitl is very endearing to her friends and family, and, deep down, she values adventures and friendships over perfection and learns to embrace life's diverse flavors. Some of her favorite things include Mesoamerican culture, alebrijes, Paleta Payaso, and frogs.
Cécile
The daughter of a high-end fashion designer and a private culinary chef, Cécile is known for being very creative and artistic, inspired by pretty much anything and everything. She has a great love for art history, baked sweets, and luxury fashion. As a rising artist and fashion designer, she can be quite the perfectionist when it comes to her work. However, she is always looking for oppertunities to improve and thrives on collaboration, whether it's brainstorming with her peers or inspiring others to discover and follow their own creative paths. In the future, she dreams of studying fashion design and culinary arts in Paris and New York, aiming to turn her passions into a career.
Lekipisia
Lekipisia (Leki) is a sweet, humble boy who resides in Kenya's Maasai Mara. He has a very fun-loving spirit, always ready to engage in anything sports-related (especially when it comes to track and field). However, deep down in his heart, Leki is a friendly, respectful, and hospitable person who honors those around him, whether they are family, friends, elders, or even strangers. Lekipisia's deep understanding of human nature and the environment surrounding him often gives him an insightful perspective on life, providing thoughtful advice on protecting wildlife and his community. In the future, he dreams of becoming a game warden to help protect animals from poaching and other threats.
Mijin
Mijin was once a bubbly, vibrant girl who always saw life through rainbow-colored lenses, but her innocent world quickly turned monochrome as she endured relentless bullying from her peers at school. From their hurtful words and mocking laughter, specifically for her "childlike" nature and interests, Mijin became isolated and hid behind routine to avoid it and cope. However, during this difficult period of her life, she found a passion for Korean arts, culture, and heritage through her love of playing the Janggu and Gayageum and performing with her father, which allowed her to reclaim her sense of identity. Turning her pains into spirits, she learns to paint her world anew and hopes to find the right friends who will help bring the lost colors back into her life.
